Aziatix Part II

What is the band’s philosophy towards music?

F: I guess through personal experiences and what comes from the heart and from the moment is what makes the music so pleasing to the ear. Along with JC’s brilliant producing, who’s in the back by the way, hello, and along with the talent that we’ve been developing for the past couple years along with our passion and what we go through everyday is what I think is the main philosophy here.

E: The most important thing is for us to get excited first, try to have fun, cos then it’ll be transferred to the listeners and yeah, the reason why we do it in English is because we’re trying to get this east-meets-west kinda vibe that’s really important for us to try and represent the right sound.

N: I just hope to keep making music that can touch people’s live and definitely I hope that we can keep making music that touches the heart and touches people, because at the end of the day, that’s what music’s about, to me. And I’m sure I’m speaking for them as well, we want to keep making music and be role models to the next generation.

So does that mean, do you have plans for Kpop?

N: Kpop? Like music in Korean? Sure, there’s always, if the opportunity arises, definitely, if there’s a market for this kind of music. Maybe next time I’ll have them singing in mandarin as well.

E: Cpop. 我是国人.

N: 国人。

Right now, you’re just focused on producing in English?

N: Well, that was just our first EP, we’ll see what holds ahead in the future, but we’re gonna keep trying to make the best music that we can.

What are your personal best moments in making the album so far?

N: As a group, I think it was when we hit number 4 on the iTunes chart. That was very surprising as well, because we basically use a lot of social networking, like FB and twitter, but when we hit 4 on iTunes, that was very touching. I think it also shows that there’s a market for this kind of music. If you make good music, then people will support. It was every touching for us. But we got a long road ahead of us, so please ask me the same question next year.

E: I was walking through Seoul, and a shop played our music. That was nice.

F: I think just us being together, cos we’re very fun, you should hang out with us sometime, we know how to have a lot of fun. We make a lot of jokes, we come up with new phrases, and just being in the studio together, making the music and encouraging each other and having fun, that’s what I cherish the most, honestly speaking. It sounds a little sappy, it sounds a little… But you know, I really cherish that, I think it’s a beautiful feeling.

N: What are some phrases?

3: BEHBEHBEH~

N: We’ve been using that a lot, when someone says something stupid or something funny, we just go BBB.

F: And when somebody says something… We just go… ‘YOU LYIN’” It’s an inner joke, there are a lot of inner jokes. So, yeah. We have lots of fun.

N: YOU LYIN.

What is your favourite song in the EP? For each of you, which one gives you the most satisfaction?

E: Well for me its ‘Cold’, it was the title for our EP, and I think it kinda represents us in the right way.

N: I like ‘Go’, because I guess that was the first song that we recorded together as a group, so that’s one of my favourites.

F: I like every single song, but I’m gonna have to go with ‘Whatcha Know About Us’, because it’s a song about unity and struggling together and succeeding together, and encouraging each other. We use a lot of ‘us’ and ‘we’ dialogues in there, and it’s to emphasize that we’re unified and we’re together and doing this together is what makes life so much better.

What are your personal mottos in life? Any words of wisdoms to live by?

F: Everyone needs a dream. Everyone needs a dream, and there’s only one life to live, and its only right to give it all to live for your dream.

E: Mine is try to be positive, I guess. When the chips are down, just positive thinking.

N: Mine is Love, Love, Love. Because this world doesn’t have enough of it, I think. Love your neighbours as you love yourself.

F: BEHBEHBEH.

N: Hallelujah.

F: Ask us if we’re single! No just kidding.

E&N: BEHBEHBEH.

(packing up)

N: Look at all these phones I get to choose from!
