It was a young a crowd who were probably still experimenting with dance moves on their bedroom floor. Mike Posner taught how a college kid would do it at a concert. How to pump your hands up and dance. Clad in a varsity jacket with “Brain Trust” printed across he got the crowd pumped up to last through the entire night. He deserves a gold medal for that y’all.

Mike Posner is one jumpy dude, it is hard to not be enthused when he is all over the piano and the speakers getting the crowd singing. Don’t know Posner but got dragged to the concert? No worries, he covered Adele’s Rolling In the Deep with drums and his sidekick centre-stage just enjoying themselves. That took my breath away. He sure has got the love when he sang two new songs and got a roaring response. This dude has got everything going and my I mention, the body too?

Train came in half an hour later (pun might not be intended) with the sound of chugging trains. A kid went, “how cheesy is that?” With If It’s Love on the first set, like we all do in this age of new technology, he whipped his phone out and snapped a quick pic leading to a tweet. Old song or new song, the crowd loved Pat Monahan and his crew alright. For the lyrics they didn’t know, it was compensated with screams as a finishing touch.

Did I mention, he got some a bunch of Trainettes on stage to dance? What Pat later called, the “Backstage Pass” dance? Very smart Pat, very smart.
Mike Posner made a return as well as both of them sang to Don’t Stop Believing, the perfect song for both of them indeed.

During the song Marry Me, Pat Monahan went “Who wanna get married? I’m gonna marry some you tonight,” and he jumped off the stage and took pictures with the audience. By pictures I mean, he takes your camera, poses with you and snaps it. Although I must say, he was less enthusiastic when he got an iPhone. They walked after 4 songs without Drops of Jupiter. I KNEW THEY’D RETURN. They did following shouts of “encore, encore, encore”. That got a loud sing-a-long.
Imma miss them. Posner especially and Scott. I might have a thing for drums.
Chugging along,
N
