While he makes music from his dorm room, I watch all his videos on repeat from my bedroom at my parents place. He is way cooler than me. That’s right, Mike Posner (whom I affectionately refer to “my Posner boy”). As part of the Uphoria Party by Sony, they’ve brought to the shores of Singapore, Train, the men who gave us Drops of Jupiter, as well as Soul Sister, and Mike Posner. I have to admit at one point of time I wished I was in a rocky relationship so that I could play Please Don’t Go on repeat.

Hugs and love were all around on stage as the boy and men showed some bro-hood whilst the host and everyone else looked on. Patrick Monahan, vocalist for Train, started cracking, “Is it true I’m cooler than you?” 

They were down-to-earth and when asked what it takes to be successful, Patrick gave his humble opinion on being yourself, “at least when yourself successful, it means you can be yourself for a long time.” Of course he had to add next, “Money isn’t about everything but it is about 9/10 of everything,” which sent laughter around the room. 

If that is so, Mike Posner has really been concentrating on that 1/10. Mixing music from his dorm room, to eventually releasing his own album, his love for music extends to offering his songs free online. What is not to love about a guy who has passion like that? Also, he is from Duke University. Brains, music, hello guys, example here! (He looks cute too by the way, if you have not noticed AND he is so down-to-earth and he Skypes with his mom often…)
